Thanks for the reply. Yeah I figured it out. The npub is the public key, but it can also be converted to hex format that is just a random string of characters that does not start with npub. I was working with a command line client that generated and output the hex public key, and I did not know how to convert it to the npub version to look it up easily in search. Luckily I found a method that is for the exact purpose.
