The fire brigade has put in place a bonfire ban for the Sankt Hans bonfires, as the entire countryside here is a tinderbox. The bit of rain we had this weekend gave some relief, but not nearly enough.
On Facebook, the announcement is receiving mostly praise and agreement that it's the right call. But there are still some people thinking it's an over-reaction, or complaining that fun has been cancelled. In a few years, this will be the least of our worries.
