Apparently the Formula-1 race organizers who've colonized Las Vegas have erected opaque barriers between the public sidewalks and the (no longer public) streets to prevent non-paying pedestrians from seeing the race. This seems on-brand for Vegas.
Reminds me of Mr. Burns' moving sky disk to prevent people from getting free sunlight.
