this meme is kinda funny but it fails hard in reality. most of my gen X neighbours are neoLiberal Internet zombies, one of my best friends is 26 years old and acts like a genXer and I know several Baby Boomers who don't fit this meme either.
most genX teens in the 80s (I'm 55) were clones. it was easily less than 1% in my school that spoke out about anything or didn't choose a mold and lean hard into it.
while the general themes in these generational memes are sorta true in a plasticky way, there are only a small number in any generation who speak out or deviate from whatever clone mold(s) exist.
don't assume people of any age group are any particular way, people will surprise you and that's a worthwhile thing. the best people in my childhood and teenage years were my grandparents and others who were around in and involved in the war(s), they knew what reality is.
not knowing is most intimate.
