The more I know about a threat, and thus can assess it more accurately, no matter how bad it is, the better equipped I am to calm down a little.

I've been focusing on finding out how long damaging changes will take, how much effort does it take to break these programs, what will it take for the next admin to fix the mess, etc etc...
I feel a little better that it's at least not an instant problem.
