The people inhabiting the world - especially the ones who had traveled around for a bit - should have come up with their own narratives for why the world is the world it is, even if they don't really understand much about it - similar to the myths surrounding the #CthulhuMythos .

But instead of feeling that there is something deeper behind it all, the setting elements simply come off as random.
