I am surprised so many smart investors believe in "intrinsic value."

There is no such thing as intrinsic value.

Investors who use this "metric" want you to think there is an "inherent, objective measure of value" for an asset.

This doesn't exist. It is pure fiction.

If I ask two different investors what the intrinsic value of a stock is, I am likely to get two different answers. If I ask ten investors, I'll get ten different answers.

There is no objective value and nothing is inherent.

Most investors simply use intrinsic value as a way to sound smart when saying "I believe the asset is worth $_____."

Determining the value of an asset is important, but everyone should stop pretending like intrinsic value
