The two biggest groups to lose if MS can't get AI spending under control - MSFT staff - they're getting laid off to fund investment - and enterprise customers, who will face big licensing hikes for M365 on renewal if things don't go to plan, even if they don't use generative AI services.
MS knows that most large enterprises are 100% locked into M365, so they can just double or triple the licensing costs. Customers will threaten to leave... but MS know they won't.
