Personally - I want my games to have story. I just don't want them to be story first, I just don't want their only appeal to be the story if I'm buying them for 60-70 dollars.
I want my videogame stories to come 2nd.
The problems I have with Doom and Splatoon is that they don't feel like they come second, they feel like they come last if even considered.
