So I go back to the main browser, open the extension, look up Paypal, copy username
Back to Paypal window, paste username, click Next.
Go back to the main browser, open the extension, look up Paypal, copy password
Back to Paypal window, paste password, click Next.
Go back to the main browser, open the extension, look up Paypal, copy MFA code
Back to Paypal window, paste MFA code, click Login.
That is why retaining the last search is convenient. No need to look up the same login entry thrice. It works, but it's rather annoying when there is proof (1PassWord extension) this can be avoided.
