NIP-24 is a Nostr Improvement Proposal that establishes an encrypted direct messaging scheme with privacy guarantees for private direct messages and small group chats. The proposal includes superior encryption, no metadata leak, onion layers, trust-minimization, no identifiers, no moderation, no shared secrets, full recoverability, optional forward secrecy, public relays, and cold storage. The proposal uses a new kind:14 to define a Chat Message between a group of users and a Seal to authenticate the author of the encrypted message. The Seal wraps the unsigned kind:14 event and is signed with the sender's regular key. The proposal also includes a GiftWrap event that wraps kind:13 events and is signed by a single-use key. The GiftWrap event is p-addressed to the receiver, and the only public information is the receiver's public key. The proposal makes heavy use of one-time keys to elevate the privacy of Nostr messages. The proposal can be applied to any Nostr event kind, but the focus is on private messages.

NDK has moved to a monorepo structure.
This will hopefully mean that I will be able to REALLY pick up the pace in deploying new features and sibling ndk-* packages (like ndk-svelte, ndk-svelte-components, ndk-cache-redis, etc)
Why?
The way I develop NDK is usually as a byproduct of other software I build, but I always have to backport my generic code that would benefit of being part of NDK or an NDK-related package.
That small friction, because I'm lazy, means that sometimes it takes me months to release very useful code (as was the case with ndk-svelte) just because I don't get around to extracting it from my codebases.
No more!
The intent is that now I'll be able to write any NDK code I'm writing in my software directly in NDK and, when ready, release it. No backporting needed.

Expect a lot more frequent releases of ndk and ndk-related projects

It uses virtual memory to map the entire database (up to 32gb). When accessing data the operating system only reads parts of this file into memory when accessing data.
The end result is you get the speed of an in-memory data structure but without having to allocate 32gb of memory to read it all (bad and impossible)
Since nostrdb uses lmdb, it arranges the data into an efficient search tree so that the most common accessed data is always hot in the cache. The end result is that the code is much simpler and faster.
The next step is to replace the in memory note cache with nostrdb as well.
