We've all been told to prioritise job seeking first and foremost. I need stuff on my resume that's relevant to the direction that I want my to career to go in.

I'm seeing issues with the planning that was done for the music. It focuses on rock/metal with elements of Norwegian folk music. The person who made the mood board is into that, and also went to game design school, but she has health problems and won't be there much. It's a good fit for the game, but I'm not seeing any other metal heads, nor anyone who plays folk instruments.

We have a much better chance of making something good if we pick electronic music instead.

Seeing as music isn't high on the priority list of the project manager nor the sound effects people, it seems best for the music people to work separately. A representative or two from the music team can show up for the main sound design meetings.

I suspect it won't be easy. The thing is that the managers of the space can't rely on people staying. People might suddenly leave if they find a job. Everything is on a best effort basis.

In such a situation, I suspect that quick delivery counts for a lot. If there is a deliverable, that's better than nothing. But if it doesn't agree with the mood board, it might prompt objections.

No work beyond the mood board has been done on the music end of things yet. There are multiple ways I could deal with it.

One of them is to go out on my own and just be the first to deliver any music at all, even if it's not what the mood board said.

But seeing as I'm not the only music person, I don't think this would be good for the group. The more complicated way is to try to set things up so the musicians can take control of the sound track.

Speaking to the person who made the mood board may be an option. I had a conversation with her earlier, but not about this.
