I can’t stomach the farcical pageantry of the SOTU address. From the stupid applause breaks to the partisan refusal to applaud for anything that might be deemed positive for the opposition. It’s all dumb and it’s all performative. It was dumb when Obama did it and he had legitimate oratory skills.
It’s yet another symbol of a deteriorating system and serves no real purpose. #sotu
