The try read all kinds of data in a database with all kinds of steps from table to table. It was OK if somewhere along the line there was a null reference. It should only return null then. It saved me many lines like 'if thing= null then return null,else find thing in the other table. If it does not exist there...' now it's a catch that returns null.",
