you're right, but i do think it's much harder to arrest someone wealthy, with higher-up connections, from the US, and they picked the guy because among other things he was an easy target...
there's times i still unconsciously assume that things like equal justice are a thing, increasingly it just seems a fairy tale we were told growing up
