this also got me to a really funky thought process
if there is such a thing as a tin coating process for glass, i could make radioactive luminescent things that have relatively low total radioactive effects, that colud be used as permanent lightning inside a subterranean environment, don't have to be total illumination, just sufficient to keep you from running into a wall or whatever
when you consider the danger posed by tar and smoke from non-electric light sources in a cave, a slightly radioactive glass ball doesn't seem like such a bad thing if used sparingly, preventing the need for using the light unless object illumination is actually needed, when you have no electrical systems working because of solar catastrophe
adding this to my list of designs for things
cave dwelling is definitely something i'm very interested in doing in my life at some point soon

quoting nevent1q…prj8this thread led me down to this also btw https://omegaforums.net/threads/old-tritium-lume-buyable.162145/
and i'm wondering hmmmmmmmm
doesn't have to be tritium (i think that's very expensive) but maybe some small amount of uranium ore or similar would have the same effect mixed with the pigment and calcium carbonate and compounded... perma-glow chalk... probably want a tin lined container for them tho haha
