I think I design OK UIs but my secret is that I can't ideate on design at all; that part of my brain is as smooth as can be. I have to build something ugly and then use it for a month and I will slowly realize what it should look like. I can critique but not invent.
On one hand it takes me an excruciatingly long time to produce anything, but on the other hand I'm just vibing.
