the difficulty with common sense is that it is utterly uncommon

(I mean real common sense, like "I'm fat so I had better start exercising and check my food intake" or "I'm going to speed up crossing the street so the cars can get going." These things arise without having to think, which I suspect is why I is called common sense... but sadly it is rare.)
