Reading a long thread from someone asking how to create tables in LibreOffice Calc (answer: you can’t) reminds me why open source software so often sucks. If your answer to the question of how to do something that's basic in every proprietary equivalent app is “learn to use a database" then you belong nowhere near software development.
(Tables is a basic feature in Excel, which is one of the most useful and widely used parts of it. And yes, you are basically creating a database)
