think of it this way - if i say something as a person one day and the next day i say something different on the same subject - you want to be able to recognize that i was speaking on the same subject but said different things on different days.

you can't take back what you said before. but it should also be recognized that what you said that is different today is on the same subject as what was said yesterday.

i understand reliable delete is impossible and that's fine. we don't need delete. all we need is recognition is that new note holds the same position in discussion thread as the old one.

the old one stays as well, just as everything you said when drunk can't be un-said.
