I'd have no problem with him staying. He'd obviously be aware that he's a backup, but despite fan meltdowns on social media whenever their ideal first-eleven doesn't start, I think he can do a decent job both at left back and in the centre during an injury crisis.

Obviously I hope we don't have another injury crisis this season, but if we do, I'd rather he was there than not.
