There is this dangerous tendency of so many social media users to overvalue “follower counts” and rely on them to grant credibility and amplify people who are painfully limited, misinformed, factually and morally wrong, aggressively stupid, or patently evil. Many of them have millions of followers because others boosted them after being seduced by a totally unnecessary follower count. We should ban them as original sin.
