Reminder to consider it an absolute win to give someone the #nostr spiel out in the wild, even if they don't sign up on the spot or even show interest in it.

This is a necessary part of the exact same gradual process practically all of us went through for #bitcoin , except instead of being in the financial space, it's in the social media space, which is similarly loaded with constant scams, over-promises, and over-saturation 👇

1ST TOUCHPOINT: "Another social media thing? I already have too many of those. Pass."

2ND TOUCHPOINT: "Oh yeah, that's that thing my other friend told me about. Interesting, Maybe I'll check it out sometime" (proceeds to not check it out)

3-5 TOUCHPOINTS: "Hmmm OK several people I have a decent amount of trust in keep telling me about Nostr. Let's actually go try this to see what the buzz is about" (gets zapped once and life changes forever 🤯⚡️)

I've been spraying and praying purple-pill fairy dust basically constantly over the last year, and if I've learned one thing about people, it's this:

Humans are simple, and the high-noise modern environment we're in makes us even simpler. The constant scams & salesy over-promises present in fields like finance and social media create a default firewall in people to be skeptical of new things that actually ARE revolutionary - Bitcoin and Nostr being perfect examples. The most effective way to help them break through this automatic shield of skepticism is simply to deliver a high-quality touchpoint, of which they might need several to get over the hump. That's it.

Using this knowledge, just keep that mindset that some people aren't going to pull the trigger no matter how amazing your rant about the importance of decentralized social media is, the best you're going to do is be a single quality touchpoint in their journey - AND THAT'S OK!

I know it can get tiresome to hear the same dumb responses/excuses over and over from people as to why they "aren't interested" or "will check it out sometime" and never do. It feels like a failure when they don't dive straight in on the spot. But this isn't because you didn't do a good job explaining, it's purely a result of the indoctrination they've been filled with.

You just have to visualize a little "+1" popping into their brain regardless, and walk away from the interaction stoked about moving them closer to the finish line, even when the payoff isn't immediately visible.

Onward in upward in your purple-pilling ventures, nostriches. You're doing amazing - keep it up!!
