The so-called "Taxpayer Protection and Government Accountability Act" is also retroactive to Jan 1, 2022, with dozens of existing taxes across the state at risk of being nullified. There is a chance that the California Supreme Court will pull it after the hearing on May 8. I hope they do. Otherwise this will be a (the?) top priority for many progressive groups.
