I have waited until the Court case and sentencing was finished before commenting on this (a legal requirement, you can get in a whole heap of trouble for not complying with it), but throughout I had suspected the defendant had a previous history of fighting and violence (which was disclosed in sentencing, its not always disclosed to the jury during the case), as well as long term alcohol and drugs use (which can lead to impulsive behaviour)
