still feels that my government wants the best for its members of the public and it shows it in “little” things like that.
direct democracy is key for swiss to maintain not being ruled by authority/elites and it helps lots finding best solutions in everything for everybody instead of feeding the chosen few. looking at our neighbours it feels like democracy has failed, but due to our direct democracy with people’s vote directly influencing decisions there are just better solutions find in many ways. and as we participate we accept political decisions more and don’t always complain about the powers that be.
interesting thing would be to deeply study difference btw models of democracy in switzerland and for example germany and its impacts on society/life. i tell you they are huge and you see it e.g. in forward solutions like the new open source law in switzerland instead of all the restrictive measures taken by EU regarding same issues
