The GOP is overplaying its hand. They know the debt limit has to be increased and they know they’re unlikely to get much so now they’re walking away from negotiations hoping Biden’s team will freak out and give concessions to come back to the table.
It won’t work. McCarthy is in real danger of being burned by both ends of his candle.
