Of course you or anyone else are free to do as they wish when it comes to zaps. If you don't feel comfortable participating in it, simply don't.

That said, I believe keeping a small amount on a custodial wallet just for sending and receiving zaps is not a bad choice. Especially if you use the custodial wallet anonymously (don't provide any KYC info to the wallet or use an anonymous email address).
