Serious question specifically to my UK peeps, but I’m interested in all non-American perspectives. In the US, the Friday immediately following our Thanksgiving holiday is the kick off of the holiday shopping season. They call it “Black Friday” (for when a store sells enough to make an annual profit or get “in the black”).
Do other countries that don’t have the US Thanksgiving holiday still have a day when stores traditionally offer deeper discounts to drive sales? If so, what do you call it?
