The gendering of sex hormones, even by the trans community itself, is a serious problem and needs to stop.
I take testosterone HRT because it is what I need to feel comfortable in my body. Not because T is male or because it suppresses "female" hormones - although it does suppress my E production.
Why does this matter?
Because if we think of E as inherently feminizing or T as inherently masculinizing it ignores the reality that they aren't. A T-dominant endrocrine system will lead to secondary and tertiary sex characteristics we deem masculine and an E-dominant endrocrine system will lead to secondary and tertiary sex characteristics we deem feminine, but that's a system, not the hormones themselves.
And certainly isn't fucking gender.
Vaginal atrophy can lead to serious health problems people taking T are loathe to treat because the treatment is E cream. Similarly, those taking E may end up needing supplemental T to keep from dealing with skeletal issues.
