Those are nice. I was just listening to your Compost Cover and Char episode on the way in to work today. The issue I’ve had with the Johnson su in the past is that I have a surplus of carbon in the fall, but the columns for air movement seem to let my pile freeze up quite a bit earlier in the winter than a pile without the columns. In the episode of your podcast that I heard today, you mentioned trying to keep the pile from freezing. Besides slowing things down, would this be detrimental to the level of microbiology, or just temporarily knock it back a bit?
