We know the anonymity afforded by the internet emboldens some people to speak and act based on their worst impulses. New technology like nostr should appeal to the better angels of our nature but oftentimes that is far from the case. My hope is that the community will enforce standards of conduct/moderation without needing to resort to heavy handed censorship that would potentially sweep out legitimate good faith dialogue.
