Finished watching Ochame na Futago: The Mischievous Twins, the 1991 anime adaptation of the 1941 children’s book The Twins at St. Clare’s, by Enid Blyton.
This is a beautiful series. The first 13 episodes are based on the book, while the latter 13 are, save for Alison arriving at St. Clare’s, anime original plots. Unlike the novel, which is set in the mid 1930s, this series takes place in the 1950s.
Mostly very satisfying, both the adapted and original parts. Unfortunately, the fansubs are retranslations, from Japanese to Arabic and then to English, and can be hard to comprehend. Only recommended to those who have read the book, which means for very few outside of the British Isles.
