Because they are evil and they want to take over the world and sell us all into slavery to the Martians.
ATProtocol, Farcaster, ActivityPub, DSNP, whatever else—why go about it as if they're all run by self-proclaimed Nigerian princes? The truth is they're all fine. Everything's fine. Each is guided by generally decent people, each is well-intentioned, each is a mix of good and bad ideas, and nothing really stands out from the pack right now.
