Shocked and apalled to find out Windows requires *drivers* for a USB MIDI interface?? You can't just plug it in and have it work????

Like for comparison I have one I bought in 2005 for Mac OS X 10.4 and it works without a driver on modern macOS. No drivers required. I thought I could just plug it into our PC and have it work... thankfully the Windows 8.1 drivers that were last updated in 2013 still work. For now.
