They do it async, but they aren’t facilitating the creation of illegal torrents which could be spread in the time it takes to remove them.
I know from a technical standpoint it doesn’t really make much of a difference, but torrents already have a seedy reputation in the public eye, plus the legal system isn’t very good at navigating technical things. I could see it backfiring.
And I’m not sure that workaround would work, because the magnet URI would need to be returned immediately. Unless you can generate the URI before making the torrent? Not sure how that works.
