Yeah but at least with "regressive" taxes everyone knows it's regressive. More honest even if still dishonest in that you're stealing and supposedly using it for good purposes. And tariffs are less of a privacy violation than income taxes. Incremental changes in circumstances are good, even if taxes are categorically evil.
