I don't believe they'll rule on presidential immunity until Trump is actually president
They aren't going to give that immunity to a Democrat who can then sic seal team 6 on his political opponents
I know Biden wouldn't do this but it's what Trump would do, so SCOTUS won't take any chances until Trump is in the White House
