@Randal You definitely have to be careful what apps you use on your smartphone. Stay away from the OS provided apps and keyboard.
I am still on this journey and my next step is installing a degoogle version of Android on a Pixel 6a. I haven't decided on Grapheneos, LineageOS, or CalyxOS
