Similarly, the justification often goes “…it’s like having a conversation in a pub. It’s a public place...”

Ok, I get that, but if I overheard a conversation between a group of friends in a pub, I wouldn’t just pop myself in the middle them with an “actually…” I’d likely get punched, and rightly so.

The “it’s public” thing holds no water with me.
