Since we being sinful humans can't become holy on our own, for we have all sinned, Christ, the Holy One, Who knew no sin, became sin on our behalf and bore the wrath of the Father for us, not giving us the punishment we deserve (Mercy), and more so, giving us what we don't deserve: His righteousness and eternal life (Grace). Thank you, Christ!
