I'm scheduling some doctor appointments and exams, and to do it I'm using an app my insurance provider has that shows me the doctors and labs that are registered with them (for non emergencies it's way easier to use the professionals registered with the provider, I don't have to deal with paperwork or pay anything upfront and then ask for a refund, I just go there, show my info and everything's good).
So as I was using the app, I decided just out of curiosity to check what specialties my insurance directly covers. And there is the usual stuff: general practitioners, cardiologists, pneumologists, psychiatrists, etc, etc. No chiropractors, tho, so my idea of receiving a massage paid by my insurance provider won't fly.
But they have acupuncture. And homeopathy.
Fucking. Homeopathy.
My health insurance provider covers homeopathy.
Why stop there? Why don't they cover folk healers? Indian shamans? Witch doctors? Old ladies that will put all my diseases into a chicken and then sacrifice it to make me better?
