Can someone explain the purpose of requiring employees to attend "training" about LGBT people's experiences of coming out?

Doesn't make you more efficient or effective at your job.

Doesn't expand the business of the company

Doesn't give you any additional skills to take away as far as I can see

DOES waste company time and resources paying people to attend

DOES decrease productivity

Am I missing something?
