Well. It finally happened. I think.

I was in a single-stall bathroom at a community center. The stall is its own small room with a full door (no space underneath or above), but it's a in a larger "cubby" room.

Anyhow I'm peeing, and someone tries to open the door and I let them know it's taken. It's happened countless times, nothing strange there.

Anyhow I come out and say sorry, and this "woman" says it's okay. And I look. And I can't tell why, but I think this is a man. I'm not sure. There was a gravelly, ambiguous voice. The person had deep lines on their face and was older. Taller than me but not 99.99% guaranteed male height. Garish makeup too bright for their age (but some women wear bright makeup even in later years). Long brassy blonde hair which could have been a wig. But so what, women do wear wigs.

Covered in a puffy jacket so I couldn't get a great look at their silhouette and didn't have time to stare. VERY thin legs. Which I think was a sign that they were male.

It also struck me that this person had waited inside the cubby area instead of in the hall outside. Mind you this also happened last week with two women when I was using the same bathroom. It DOES happen. But I noted it. Also the way this person spoke to me and said, "it's okay." The person's demeanor wasn't lurid or creepy. It just seemed not quite HOW a woman would say it even though a woman WOULD be likely to say that. It was too calm. Just a hair off.

I got the sense this person wanted interaction with me. Not intensely, but I do think it's plausible this was in the sense of, "I'm a woman like you. We're two women in the bathroom." Like they wanted to belong or feel confirmation. As part of their "woman time" or whatever.

Anyhow I think there's a really good chance this was a man. I can't say for sure though. Some women have deep voices, especially older women.

And I realized if he was a man, I don't want to share a bathroom with him. Point blank.

I did share a bathroom a couple years ago with a young man but it was a busy, large, multi-stall unit and he was short and young and I just didn't feel creeped by it.
