I'm talking about "monetized" as an adjective describing an asset class - not the "to make money from something" definition. When we say an asset class has become "monetized," we're describing how that asset has taken on money-like properties. This means people begin treating it not just as a thing with inherent use value, but as a store of value and medium of exchange - key functions of money itself.
