It's playing out that way right now. When you look at how fast people are building having 1 more cycle of time would've been huge. And probably led to hundreds of thousands to adopt who won't now. 90% of the world's population isn't west europe/us/australia etc.. people living on $5 a day aren't going to drop $75 to open a LN channel . Nor should anyone really. The notion that absurd fees is good is dumb. Not saying L1 should be sub$1 but this is not healthy for adoption regardless of how rich miners get.
