I think media piracy in general and BitTorrent in particular is going to be the salvation for a lot of future historians and other academics.

There's so much stuff that would just straight-up disappear from our cultural commons if it wasn't for media piracy.

Any original streaming show that gets removed by its host service, any game that publishers stop selling (tens of thousands of older console titles alone) would just be lost if it wasn't for media pirates.
