"political violence is never acceptable" is a rly interesting line for talking heads to take because it shows they don't consider things like "having a military budget larger than that of the next 10 countries combined" and "having a prison population that followed a hockey stick graph from the 80s on" to be "politics" in the strict sense. "politics" is just this smooth ahistorical surface of conventions that inexplicably popped into being sometime in the last few decades
