Would any physicians like to weigh in on whether it was prudent medicine for hospital-hospice unit staff to prescribe a cocktail of morphine, Xanax and Ativan, for a 97yo patient in extreme upper back/neck pain who was already not very responsive? We don’t know if she’s going to wake up from this or not. They say it may take as much as 24 hours (as of noon today).
