Because I don't want to leave a trace of having an illegal woodstove in my house whenever it's time to sell/rent it.

It'll be probably 16" but the bottom and sides i'll insulate with a vermiculite/refractory mortar mix. The top I'll probably just let get hot but make out of thicker steel. The wall and the floor will get some sheet metal.

I need to go back to the steel yard.
